Day 14: More Sanibel

Today we enjoyed a relaxing day in Sanibel. Dan and Erin were up early to go shelling. They found a ton of shells. The kids then stayed inside reading and watching television, while Dan and Wendy enjoyed reading outside on our patio. After lunch, we drove into town and went to the Shell Museum. They had a large variety of shells to look at. We learned the names of some of the shells that we had found. We also watched a movie about what lives in the shells, snails—it might have been better to skip this part—it grossed out Dan and Wendy. Later in the afternoon, it was then time for a treat, so we went to a homemade ice cream shop and pigged out. Then it was back to our beach for more shelling. Kyle and Wendy were looking near the water, when Kyle spied a really large and pretty shell. To our surprise, when Kyle picked it up, it was alive! It was a crab! Need less to say, Kyle quickly dropped it back into the sand. What a great way to spend the day!
